Petting Zoo: The petting zoo is included with general admission. It’s FREE

Animals in the petting zoo vary with the seasons. This means in the spring and summer months it is full of babies such as: baby pigs, goats, lambs, llamas, chicks, tortoises‘, African crested porcupine and even a baby camel or two. In this area of our park you are able to exit the vehicle and wander around our barnyard area. Visitors can get up close to our herd of 30+ camels, auodad and other exotic species. We do have many free spirited animals you can feed, running free in our barn area. Some visitors return time and time again just to visit Daisy the pig, Casper the llama or Cleo the porcupine.

Sweet Tater Cave: $5.00 per person when “added on” to any other activity.

This little gem has been endeavored by many. All the “ole timers” in the area (Strawberry Plains) know of this small cave. It was once used for storing sweet potatoes through the winter and preserving food rations, dating back as far as 1923. The cave stays at a constant 62 degrees. A welcoming invitation for summer visitors and guest trying to beat the East Tennessee heat. Almost all VBS, youth groups, boy and girl scouts have added this adventure onto their visit with us. There is NO experience necessary. Children love going into the cave and seeing the gorgeous stalagmites and stalactites and maybe even a tiny, sleeping fruit bat. A Circle G Ranch staff member will lead and guide each group on a short walkabout through the zoo to the cave. A chaperone from your group must go with each class/group into Sweet Tater Cave. If you plan on adding Sweet Tater Cave as an adventure, please call and let CGR staff know so that we can have a keeper/staff available to guide your group. Please bring several small, handheld flashlights or headlamps. We will accommodate even a few of your class/group if all do not want to participate.  However, for the one’s who do, bring an extra $5.00.This activity takes roughly 30 min.
Please wear appropriate footwear. No sandals, flip flops or open toe shoes.

 Show-n-Tell: FREE.

If your class is planning on spending several hours at the CGR, you are more than welcome to bring sack lunches and eat with the animals. There is plenty of room to sit in grass, lay blankets out and have lunch. We also have a few picnic tables available. Like a little entertainment while you eat, just let us know. Show-n-Tell usually consist of: Q and A, showing examples of the different types of antlers from deer, flightless bird eggs (Ostrich, Emus, Rhea), turtle shells and maybe bringing out “Shelly the hedgehog”, our newest addition to the ranch. Just let us know if you would like to add on this keeper chat while you eat.
