Matt "Gumby" Michel has been a handler and keeper of exotic animals for almost
20 years. Bactrian and Dromedary camels
are his passion. As a kid, Matt got well acquainted with camels working at a
petting zoo, campground and nature park in Delphos, Ohio. Not long after
graduating from high school Matt bought his first dromedary gelding named Abdul.
In the spring of 1996, Matt moved to Knoxville striving to give locals and
visitors to the area an opportunity to ride these gentle giant's. Today,
Matt and his wife Christy have worked hard for over 10 years by planning this
new
adventure to create a unique opportunity to those wishing to experience
these magnificent creatures. Along with their newborn son Cash Thomas,
they share over 62 acres with 23 camels at the Circle G Ranch. Cash is
just a beginner, but the Circle G Ranch family seeks to provide you with
a unique adventure just minutes from Knoxville, Pigeon Forge, and the
great Smoky Mountains. USDA licensed and insured. We keep things professional, safe,
and fun. Entertaining the public and educating them about these animals is our
goal. They are friendly, healthy, well groomed exotic farm animals, well
treated, and very much loved.
